We the ladies and gentlemen

Well, there are two reasons for putting myself in the category of young women.Read all the post as if you are reading it on the 28th of April, because the present tense sounds more effective in times like this.

Firstly, I turned 21 today (I’m already a day older now:P, since it’s posted on the 29th). This is probably the last of my B’days in IIIT-A, with all the fun and friends included.I still remember the day when I first cut the cake here and now it surprises me how quick time flies by.This has perhaps been the most wonderful of all years.As always all my friends gathered, the candles were blown, the cake was cut and song was sung.Unfortunately, this time I got bumps as well along with the gifts.My poor ex-roomie also got her ass kicked.We smeared the cake all over the faces of others.Sameera’s face was a master-piece.Puja’s floor was all stained, so the hostesses(Puja ‘n’ Sammera) of the show were cursing me.Sorry to you guys:P. Though it felt great to have all my good friends around, but the fact that all this fun would bite the dust pretty soon irked me inside.

Secondly, we had this placement photo session.The stage was set and the batch of B2K5 presented themselves in their best formal apparel.The guys for a change were looking all spick and span.I guess this is first time after our ragging period, when we got to heave a sigh of relief from all the stylist hair-does and ruffled mustaches and/or beards.We girls were all dressed prim in suits of pastel shades.Well, it happens once in a blue moon that all girls of the batch sport the Indian ethnic look.The brief profile photo session, was followed by a group picture.Now, it feels good that I kind of know my entire batch(I mean everybody by their names and faces).Trust me I was very bad at it once upon a time.Summing it up, we finally enjoyed the afternoon though the sun was throwing it’s curses on us.

I feel like the entire day has come and gone in a flash, bringing with it a melange of joy for the moment, hope for tomorrow and fear for the far-off future yet to come(the actual placement season I mean).
